The longfin green dragon pleco (Ancistrus sp.) is a unique freshwater pleco known for its flowing fins and subtle green coloration. These hobbyist-bred plecos are hardy, peaceful, and excellent algae eaters, making them a perfect addition to planted and community aquariums.

Unlike common plecos, these stay relatively small and are well-suited for community aquariums. Their unique finnage and “dragon-like” appearance make them a standout whether they’re grazing on surfaces or resting on décor.

Each fish shows slight natural variation in color and fin development, making every one unique.

All fish are hobbyist-bred in our fish room—never mass-produced or imported.

Specifications:

  • Sex: Undetermined (males may develop bristles as they mature)
  • Water Parameters: 72–82°F, pH 6.0–7.5
  • Diet: Algae, sinking wafers, Repashy, blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach), driftwood recommended
  • Tank Size: 20 gallons or larger
  • Max Size: 4–5 inches

Care Notes:

These plecos are excellent algae grazers but should not rely on algae alone. A varied diet will help maintain their color, health, and fin development. Providing driftwood is important for both grazing and digestion.

Add this unique Longfin Green Dragon Pleco to your aquarium for a striking, functional, and low-maintenance addition.

Longfin varieties are slower-growing and less commonly available, making them a premium choice among pleco keepers
