Multi shell dwellers (Neolamprologus multifasciatus), often called “multis,” are one of the smallest and most fascinating freshwater cichlids. These colony fish are hobbyist-bred in our fish room and are known for their unique shell-dwelling behavior and constant activity.
Native to Lake Tanganyika in Africa, these dwarf cichlids are well known for their colony-based lifestyle and shell-dwelling behavior. In the wild, they live in vast shell beds, and in the aquarium they will quickly claim and rearrange shells to create their own territories.
Known for their constant activity, these small cichlids live and breed in shells, creating their own little colonies right in your tank. Watching them dig, move shells, and interact with one another makes them one of the most entertaining fish you can keep. Their subtle coloration and bold personalities make every group truly one of a kind.
All fish are hobbyist-bred in our fish room—never mass-produced or imported.
